Abbey Training South West is a established training centre located in Bristol, that is aiming to fill a gap in the provision of qualified childcare practitioners via National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ's).  We are a local enterprise comprising of a dedicated team of fully qualified Assessors and Internal verifiers who believe in the quality of childcare training.  Together we have over 60 years experience of working with children and are all from educational backgrounds.

NVQ's are work based qualifications, if you have considered a future in childcare or are an employer with staff, who require staff training then NVQ's may be the answer.

The appropriate level of award depends on job role for example an assistant in a fully supervised position requires level 2.  Those with responsibility or in a more senior position would need level 3, whilst management usually requires level 4. 

NVQ Candidates work through a series of units or modules under the guidance of an Assessor who will visit them in the workplace and a portfolio of evidence is put together.  The acquisition of an NVQ can lead to additional further education or employment progression.
