National Vocational Qualifications are work based. To ensure quality of training and assessment there is a quality assurance structure.

Assessors are required to be occupationally competent – this means they must have current experience of the NVQ they are assessing.

Checking the Assessors are Internal Verifiers they also need to be occupationally competent. The role of the internal Verifier is to monitor the work of the Assessor.
